Professor Abhishek Mishra, the former Vice-President, SGES was a man with different outlook and thinking as far as education system is concerned. He was an educationalist who not only believed in making the students learned but also educated. His endeavor was to create an Institute that will provide a space for free and uninhibited thinking where faculty and students can experiment with novel ideas without the fear of failure. Inventions and innovations were the key concepts on which he wanted to lay the foundation of SSTC. In this mission, his one of the most important step was Introduction of Outcome Based Learning in which he emphasized on the need to think and design the outcome of learning. In other words, it was a serious attempt to design the practical approach to theoretical learning in the current scenario. His another step was introduction of EDRP system to minimize the informational space and bring transparency in the working system among students, staff and management.
As a technocrat he kept no stone unturned to promote research and learning whether it was establishment of labs, performing of experiments or sponsoring the students for big projects like NASA. He was a true visionary whose sole aim was to provide a platform for all round development of the students. SAMVID- the techno-cultural management fest is the result of his vision. This event is organized annually with a view to explore hidden talents around central India in technological and cultural field.
He possessed all the traits of a successful entrepreneur who always followed an open door policy where every individual was welcomed to give and take suggestion for better functioning. As a team leader he always boosted the spirits of his team by acknowledging their good work. He always use to say," We want to work together with all of you to proceed as far as our vision, mission, talents, resources and dreams lead us. With your support, the only direction we can go is onward and upward."
Professor Abhishek Mishra understood that the success of any professional education institute is often calculated by the success of its training and placement department. Hence, he strived hard for the enhancement of this department. He was successful to bring numerous companies and a good number of campus selections during the years.
His vision was not confined to organizational development but this versatile personality also worked to bring our state Chhattisgarh to a global platform through sports and entertainment. He produced many films and documentary movies. He was also the owner of a tennis team Raipur Rangers. Due to his contribution in the sports field, he was chosen as one of the executive members of Chhattisgarh Olympic Association, recognized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare, Government of Chhattisgarh.
His efforts and contribution demonstrates how concerned individuals can make the difference in providing the best and leap a giant step further in to the future. His dream farsighted vision as a technocrat, to provide the finest possible quality education, compassionate environment is at the very heart of all that we do.
In a nutshell, he was a dreamer who believed in the words of Colin Powell that "A dream does not become reality through magic it takes sweat, determination and hard work"
Do the difficult things while they are easy and do the great things while they are small. A journey of thousand miles begins with a single step.
